Diabetics at TGI Friday

If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.

Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:

Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

I was pleasantly surprised. Three of us went here for lunch today. I have to admit, I went in with a bad attitude after several bad experiences in a row with the chain restaurants in this area. We were all pleasantly surprised. First, we split a plate of "traditional" wings with buffalo sauce. The wings were very good. I loved their take on buffalo sauce with a distinct sour taste. Nice. Between the three of us we ordered a California Club Sandwich, a Beer Cheese Burger, and a Rotisserie Chicken Salad Sandwich. We shared all of them. And we unanimously liked all three dishes. We ended by sharing a Tennessee Whiskey Cake. It was fantastic! Finally, the service was great. As a WEIRD side note: my wife was cornered by a male transvestite in the women's restroom! I am NOT kidding!!!??? He complimented her on her tattoos and her hair...and he touched her hair...then proceeded to sit at the bar near us during our entire lunch. My wife was flattered (kind of). And I was a little creeped-out because he was in the women's restroom and because he touched my wife. The staff seemed to know him because they talked to him quite a bit and hugged him when he went home. This was the only negative (I guess) about our visit. It gave us a lot to talk about though. In summary, I went in expecting to be disappointed but I was pleasantly surprised. I'd go back again. -Daddy Maxx Retro

I've been going to this Fridays location for years. It's been two years since I had been, and after finding out an old friend was in town, we decided to go to TGI Fridays. The wait time was only a few minuets to our surprise but once we were seated at the table it took 10 minuets before a server even came by to say she'd be right with us. I looked around at a bar that had people in it's seats but wasn't nearly as busy as usual. I saw about 6 servers and bartenders goofing around at first which was no big deal until our server was taking her time to greet us. When she finally came to our table to take our drink order, she did so and then brought out drinks and took our food order. The food came out quickly and I was severely disappointed. I was so excited at what a giant menu they had now but my burger was nothing better then the frozen fake patties you get at a fast food joint. My bun was very soggy and the fries were very bland and room temperature. I instantly pictured them being mistake fries that they threw on my plate. I didn't see the server again until she picked up our plates and disappeared again. We waited and waited and realized she wasn't bringing us our check so we took our cards out in hopes it would signal her to come back. I took the opportunity to use the bathroom and was disgusted by the fact that there was no toilet paper anywhere in the stall and found dried blood on the toilet bowl. I hurried and washed up and went back to the table where our bill STILL hadn't come. We looked around to signal her and she took our cards and ran them without bringing the bill for us to see, and after running them hurried off. As a previous server, I felt awful leaving a 10% tip, but between service, food and cleanliness of the place being poor I just wanted to leave. I'll probably continue to take my business to Boston's from now on. The service and atmosphere is just all together much better.

Friday's is Friday's. This location does have a pleasant interior and is a fun place to come with friends but the menu is devoid of any meatless options. Kind of ridiculous these days.

I want to start by saying I'm not a chain restaurant fan, but the food here is good. Prices are a little higher than one might expect from a place like this. I would say the food is better than most chain places but the price reflects that. My one complaint and a pet peeve of mine is the cleanliness. Both my wife and I noticed the place looked ok at first glance, but really needs a deep cleaning. Makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like. The restrooms were unacceptable. We visited on a slow weekday, about 430 PM so well before the dinner rush. I asked for a manager to let him know, he seemed surprised which honestly surprised me. I can tell you with all certainty that the toilets hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The entire restroom was dirty, needed a dusting, and was just downright gross. I will avoid this location for that reason alone. Really leaves you wondering about that kitchen!

Their web site menu for their location showed The Strawberry Fields salad had arrived! I've been looking forward to it all winter. My daughter and I made it a point to stop for lunch. When we arrive it was not on the menu . The manager checked to see if they had the ingredients. They did and made one for me!!! I have always liked this location and now they went above and beyond I'm a patron for life!!!

Great start when the young man seating us brought us to a booth that was still wet and dirty with crumbs from the last patron(s). When I made mention I was ignored. Paying customers should be treated well, period, not made to sit in a wet dirty booth. The young man could have at least given ME the rag to clean up the table. Disgusting. The drinks were fine, hard to mess up pouring beer/getting beer from a tap or reading how to make a cocktail off a card. We ordered an appetizer trio and the food was terribly oily, salty, and not warm. We asked for a replacement for the potato skins because basically they were large fried potato chips that oozed oil when you bit into them with some bacon and cheese on top. Really oily, hard and gross. We politely asked for the replacement and the waitress was entirely put out and rude. We were stunned. Really poor. The pretzels with beer cheese dip were disgusting. The pretzels were coated with way too much salt and oozed oil when cut or bit into, yet again. I've never had a deep fried pretzel and don't enjoy hot oil oozing out of my mouth onto my sore salty lips. There was hardly any dip. The boneless wings were good but it's hard to mess that up when they come frozen in a bag and they are fried and sauced. Out almost $40 bucks for that hot mess and dirty table. At least the server and manager came to make sure things were better, but I expect that when you serve me crap, so no bonus points. Do yourself and your health a favor, save your money and go some place nice where food is freshly served, prepped and made to order.

My favorite fridays! They have friendly bartenders, hosts, and waiters. I love their bingo and trivia nights too! Yeah it's typical American Standard food for the most part but I love some of their newer menu items with a twist. Of all the casual American dining restaurants out there, Friday's is by far my favorite.

Typical TGI Friday fare. Spinach dip tasted like frozen version at the grocery store. Burgers were good, and service was very good. Recommended if your looking for sit down dining and want to get in & out fast. No surprises here.

We always come here but this time I was very disappointed. We ordered a beer and there was something floating in it and when we told our waitress, she told the bartender that she did not see it. I orderd a margarita and there were lime seeds in my drink. The food took awhile. I ordered the Reuben for the first time and half of it was cold. The waitresses were trying to be nice but we did not even get to taste our food yet and they were asking every 5 minutes how it tasted. I come here almost every two weeks after happy hour so never during dinner. They use to have good and friendly bartenders.not sure what happened to them.

I have mixed feeling about this TGIF but the fact that it is close, the stripes points and coupons keep me coming back. I've had some good meals and some I didn't like so much. Yesterday I had the Jack Daniels rib eye steak. It was more like chuck steak. It was fatty and tough, definitely not what I expect when I order the most expensive steak on the menu. The shrimp I had with it was good and my wife enjoyed the fried shrimp she ordered. Overall, I think the TGIF in Maple Grove is much better.

We love this TGIFridays. The waiters and waitresses are always pleasant and welcoming. They have good recommendations for drinks and food, and will ask you questions to offer what they feel you will enjoy best. Their drink selections are good, and they've made a few drinks not on their usual menu when requested. Decent bar area with good lighting during the day, and the TV's are set in a way where there are few bad seats in the house (bar side that is). We typically split the take 3 or do their lunch specials. Good deals for good food that way!

The food is always as expected, and tasted fine (although sorely lacking in vegetarian options and things that aren't deep-fried), but the servers are apparently told their job is to increase the customers' bill at all costs, not to serve them. I don't go out to eat to hear ten sales pitches. It cheapens the entire experience. I loathe this practice and will not be returning to a Friday's unless I hear they've stopped forcing their servers to use manipulative and aggressive sales tactics on people who just want to hang out and eat food prepared and served by someone else.

About TGI Friday

TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.

Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.
